We caught up with Roera Hartley one of the big drivers of Ki o Rahi in Tuwharetoa to find out how the day went.

“This was our first time competing as a proper team, we entered two teams. Both our teams played two games in pool play, in different pools. My team finished top in our pool winning both of our games while our other team finished bottom of their pool not winning any, although they had the most even pool.”

“We had 16 players all up, 8 a team. We played Ngati Maniapoto in the finals and were lucky enough to come away with the win. Highlight for me, was definitely beating Papatuanuku by 2 points in our last pool match to make it to the finals. Got revenge on our loss to them in the final at Iwi of origin last year.”

”Another highlight for me was showing off our trophy we won to our kaumatua and kuia who had
come up from Turangi.”
